Preference game

Rules

Classic (3 to 8 players)

  1. Five topics are dealt for the round.
  2. The spotlight player privately ranks their own preferences: 1 is most liked, 5 is least liked, each rank used once.
  3. Everyone else predicts that order, and marks exactly one topic as their confidence pick.
  4. Everyone locks their answer. A locked answer cannot change.
  5. The spotlight player reveals their fifth place. Every guesser reveals their guess for that same topic. Then fourth, third, second and first.
  6. A guesser scores one point for each exact rank match, one more if the confidence pick is a match, and one more for matching all five. A perfect round is 7 points.
  7. The spotlight player scores the highest guesser score that round.
  8. The spotlight moves to the next player in seating order and five new topics are dealt.
  9. Highest total wins. Ties share the win.

Duo (2 players)

Both players rank their own preferences. Each topic ranked the same by both adds one shared point. There is no confidence pick and no perfect-round bonus. Standard Duo is 10 rounds.
